CONTINUING DISABILITY HISTORY & CULTURE SERIES
4-6 weekly workshops, approximately 90 minutes each
Beginning with a 101 workshop, we will then explore specific artists, activists, movements, and events that have shaped the way disabled people exist in modern societies. Progress isn't always a forward movement; disabled lives haven't always been devalued as they too often are today. Examining the mistakes of the past and present allows us to make better futures.
A series of weekly workshops, Disability Culture & History is about broadening the understanding of who disabled people are, what we do, and where we belong.
There is no wrong place to start - no knowledge of disability or ableism is necessary for this or any workshops or series.
